TOTALS!

Hi All,

Just wanted to give you a quick update to let you know the outcome of the car wash fundraiser.

The total raised from the car wash is...(drum roll please)...$1,568.00!!!!

We were so blessed, thankful, and shocked at the total.  We want to thank all that came out to support and who gave to our adoption...we are so truly humbled by your giving!  We also want to thank all of our friends who came out and helped us...we could absolutely not have done it without you!!  What a blessing you are to our family!

THIS IS THE WEEK

Hi all!
 Just wanted to remind you that this Saturday, August 18th from 9 am - 2 pm we will be having a Car Wash Fundraiser at East 74 Restaurant in Indian Trail.  All donations will go directly toward our adoption expenses.  We hope to get to meet a lot of people (blog followers, those interested in adoption, those in the process of adopting, or maybe ones that are unaware of adoption or the costs involved).   Thank you in advance for coming out and showing your support!  There is a link to a video below that you need to check out, take a couple minutes and view it.

THE LATEST & FUNDRAISER EVENT

Happy August everyone!  I somehow missed blogging in July...sorry about that Lugo adoption blog followers!  Here's the latest:

7/2/12-Our dossier reached Ethiopia (where it undergoes translation-which should be about done now)
7/3/12-Fingerprinted at USCIS
7/23/12-Received USCIS approval in the mail

We are still "WAITING IMPATIENTLY" on a referral.  There have been a lot of referrals happening through our agency recently, so it could be soon!  Just please continue to pray for us as we wait, and also for wisdom when that referral comes.

Thank you so much for continuing to read our blog, the many inquiries on our process, and wanting to stay updated on our adoption journey!  We truly appreciate it and thank you for caring for us!  See below for an opportunity for you to come out and support our adoption in person!  Jot the date on your calendar so you won't forget...if you're like me, it is a must!  But I'll be sure to post the fundraiser date again in case you don't use a calendar!

UPDATE -- MADE IT TO THE BOTTOM

It is hard to believe it has almost been a month since our announcement post!  Well, here's where we've been:  ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN OF PAPERWORK!  But I'm excited and happy to announce that we have made it to the bottom and we are DONE!!

Friday 6/15--we received our finalized Home Study
Saturday 6/16--we sent off our I-600A to USCIS (which they've received--confirmed by tracking!)
Saturday 6/16--we got our dossier notarized--thanks to a special birthday boy--you know who you are!
Monday 6/18--compiled our dossier and agency contract (along with the fees--gulp!) and sent it off!

I can say that the heavy pressure I was experiencing in my chest is now gone--whew! (Heather)

We now are in that phase,  I (Heather) am so horrible at...WAITING.  Waiting on a referral...but know the day will come!

This past week I, (Heather) was having a horrible time at being patient, waking up to the realization that this could be a LONG process--to the point of not feeling well.  Then I was reminded...who am I to tell the Lord when to give us a child?  He has it all planned out, and even though I want it NOW, He knows who that child is and when they'll need us--He knows what is best.

Please keep us in your prayers as we...WAIT.  I think it will be the hardest part!

We'll keep you posted and you'll hear from us soon about a local fundraiser that is in process!

WE ARE PREGNANT - KINDA!

Our Adoption Journey!

What do you get when you combine two parents that adore each other, two crazy and beautiful girls (Izzy and Sofi), a Basset Hound (Bumper), and a Goldfish (Orangey) = ROOM FOR ONE MORE!

God started us down the path to adoption a long time ago with just a thought, but over time that simple thought has become our hearts desire as a family.  Our incredible God has already open and shut many doors throughout the process to get us to what we know is the perfect place for our family and his glory.  We have already begun the process to adopt from Ethiopia!  The road to bring home our child is still uncertain in our eyes, but we know that this is the path that God has chosen for us to walk down as a family.  Of course there will be much more to come on the process (the aspects we can share) as the days pass, but we wanted to formally announce being "paper pregnant" to all of our family and friends.  I am sure there will be many ways over the coming months that we will need help from our family and friends.  I can think of two ways right now: 1. Pray.  2.  Pray for us some more.
